New dental patients in Lawrenceville

Ready for the Best Dental Visit of Your Life?

Welcome to Lawrenceville Smiles! We understand that new dental patients in Lawrenceville have a lot of options, and not every practice is the same. We also know that visiting a new dentist can make some people feel anxious, especially if you’re facing complex or more involved treatment. Don’t worry — we’re here to make your experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.

During your first call to our office, we’ll take some time to get to know you and share a bit about ourselves.

Before your visit, we’ll also send you a friendly appointment reminder. From the moment you step into our office, our goal is to help you feel right at home. You can count on our team to deliver expert care with a smile.

Your First Visit

Where do I start?

Typically, new patients will have their initial meeting with Dr. Scalia. However, if you’re only in need of a routine cleaning and checkup, you may first see Judy or Lindsey, our skilled hygienists. During your visit with Dr. Scalia, you’ll take some time to get to know each other.

To get ready for your visit, it’s important that we learn about your health. Prior to your first visit, our team will send you forms that should be completed online and brought to your first visit.

Our comprehensive examination process

Dr. Scalia and his team will begin with a thorough examination and gather all the essential information needed to determine your treatment options. This may include taking impressions of your teeth, along with x-rays, digital photographs, and CT scans if needed. Using this data, Dr. Scalia will craft a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals. He will review with you all of your options so that you are aware of each and can make an informed choice for care. Dr. Scalia will also go over four key points:

  • What he found during your exam
  • The custom treatment options he’s developed for you
  • The timing and costs of each option
  • An opportunity to answer any questions you have

From here, the decision is yours. Dr. Scalia believes his first responsibility is to show that he fully understands your dental goals, how you’ve arrived at this point, and what can be done to meet your smile goals. When you decide to move forward with care, our team will step in to discuss financial arrangements and scheduling. Dr. Scalia may also refer you to visit with other dental specialists to create a dental team for you, which Dr. Scalia will quarterback. Together, your dental team will come up with your treatment plan(s), which Dr. Scalia will take time to review with you at an in-person consultation.

For routine dental hygiene visits

You may also start by seeing Judy or Lindsey, our skilled dental hygienists. She’ll spend some time getting to know you while reviewing your medical history. Judy or Lindsey will:

  • Take any necessary x-rays
  • Perform an oral cancer screening
  • Assess your gum health
  • Discuss your oral hygiene habits
  • Teach effective cleaning techniques
  • Review your at-home care routine

You’ll likely receive a basic cleaning and sometimes a fluoride treatment. Dr. Scalia will also meet you and conduct a dental exam. By the end of your appointment, you should feel confident in your smile and your oral health.

We’re a Covid Safe Provider

As a Covid Safe dental provider, we maintain rigorous infection control protocols that exceed standard guidelines. This includes enhanced PPE for all team members, HEPA air filtration systems, and regular sanitization of all surfaces.

Our sterilization protocols follow CDC and ADA recommendations, with additional measures like thorough room disinfection between patients. Patient safety remains our highest priority as we provide essential dental care for everyone in a safe and healthy environment.

We also offer COVID-conscious patients 8:00 am appointments to minimize contact with other patients.

Payment options for new dental patients in Lawrenceville

As a fee-for-service practice, we believe in providing the best care for your individual needs, not what an insurance company thinks is best. It’s important to understand that dental insurance works differently than medical insurance.

While medical insurance often covers necessary treatments more comprehensively, dental insurance is more like a discount plan, offering limited benefits on certain procedures. Your dental insurance contract is between you and your insurance provider, and while we work with them to maximize your coverage, we never let an insurance company—who has never seen you—dictate your treatment. Our focus is always on what’s in your best interest, ensuring you receive the highest quality care, regardless of your insurance limitations.

How we work with insurance:

  • Our team will conduct a complimentary benefits check with your insurance to maximize your coverage
  • We will file your insurance on your behalf

Special Financing Available

If you have an extensive treatment plan, or just need help with routine care, you may qualify for one of our financing options with Care Credit and Lending Club. These third party financing plans offer both short and long term payment plans at competitive rates that will fit your budget. Our team will help you to apply so that you can get the care you need.
